Star surfaces in this build render live convection: fine, high-contrast structure that moves as the star rotates. Measured on a Sun-like star, roughly 14% of the disc changes brightness by more than 10% every frame while rotating.
If you have photosensitive epilepsy or are sensitive to flicker, start in reduced-flicker mode. It softens surface contrast and enlarges the convection cells, and measures at 0% by the same test. You can switch at any time with F (desktop) or the FLKR button (mobile).
